Just a bit about me...

Because nobody likes a "Chatty Cathy", right?

2000

The start of my career began at an e-learning company in Brighton as a Web Developer

I learnt a lot about Flash development and animation which was the hot new thing back then, and useful for some projects in my next role

KnowledgePool

My first task was digitising DAT tape recordings of a radio news presenter into WAV files... some of it not unlike the TV show "Toast of London"

This was a great collaborative experience working with all kinds of designers and developers

Safestyle UK

An enjoyable mix of tasks like designing web pages, Flash applications, display banners, print designs and writing scripts for TV & radio adverts

Started learning After Effects and used it for a few animations here and there in Flash applications

2006

Began my second job as a Web Designer for Safestyle UK in Bradford... "You know the one!", yeah, that one with the shouty window guy

Got to go behind the scenes on some of the TV advert shoots and learn more about video and audio production, all that fun stuff

2013

Became self-employed for a while taking on web and various other digital and print design projects

Created an interactive "Comp Shop" presentation for UK Greetings animating graphics from an illustrator, using Flash and CreateJS Toolkit

Self-employed

Developed websites in Wordpress setting up bespoke themes and customising plugins

Damart

Worked on a mix of design tasks for the usual online and offline marketing channels like email, social, display and print

Created the largest print design I've done to date for the restaurant after it was refurbished, along with some complementary "Warhol" style prints

2015

My third and most recent position as Web Designer for Damart in Bingley... known historically by most for their thermal undies

Developed some web applications like a "HTML Email Builder" and a "Terms & Conditions Generator" to help with workflow in the team

So, where to next for me?

I really enjoy motion design, so would love the chance to do some more work in that area and expand my skills a little further.

Other interests I have include home audio production, so if there's an element of sound design too, then even better! I'm always on the lookout for something that's interesting, varied and collaborative.
